Module Preview: MOTM-730 Voltage-Controlled Pulse Divider

The MOTM-730 is an assembled-only module (no blank pc boards available) that can divide any input waveform (up to 15Khz) into a series of square waves. The square waves can range from 1/1.5 to 1/33 of the input. This module is currently in beta testing. Expected order date is Sept. 15th, 2008. Click the tab on the left for more info.

Module Preview: MOTM-520 Cloud Generator and MOTM-521 Cloud Generator Expansion

The MOTM-520 Cloud Generator and optional companion MOTM-521 Expander/Programmer is the first in a series of modules that use our AudioEngine technology. The AudioEngine uses Xilinx Spartan-3E FPGAs and ARM 32-bit processors (running 40Mhz-100Mhz) to implement parallel audio processing.

The MOTM-520 implements 16 DVCOs (digital VCOs), 48 LFOs, 48 2-pole LP filters and more. The MOTM-521 (optional) provides a user interface to program and load (via USB) 'patches' into the MOTM-520 and has 2 additional audio outputs. Expected order date is Nov. 1st, 2008. What happened to all the CEM ICs?

The agreement between OnChip and Synthesis Technology to resale NOS CEM ICs has expired. We still have a very limited supply left. See the ORDER page for current inventory.

Synthesis Technology announces the MOTM-1000 Series. These are Frac Rack modules compatible with Blacet and PAiA. The modules differ from our standard MOTM format in the following:

  • Patching is with 3.5mm patchcords
  • The modules size is smaller: 3in x 5.25
  • Available only as assembled modules (no kits)

The Frac Series does have some things in common with our standard modules:

  • Same 4-pin power cable is used
  • Same +-15VDC power
  • Same signal levels (10V pk-pk audio, +5V Gate and envelopes)
  • Same high-quality MOTM design and construction

The MOTM-1000 Series is sold exclusively by Analogue Haven, a retail synth store in Pomona, CA. They stock the MOTM-1000 series for immediate shipment and can ship worldwide. Please visit their site for detailed information and pricing. Current modules are:

  • MOTM-1800 Looping ADSR EG. Can be used as a LFO or EG.
  • MOTM-1485 Yamaha GX-1 VCF. Snarly, highly distorted outputs.
  • MOTM-1490 Moog -24dB Lowpass VCF. Based on the Moog Modular 904A VCF.
  • MOTM-1190 Dual VCA. All discrete VCA with unique soft limiter/clipper for "tube like" distortion
